Dual-resolution 3DEnVar in regional MPAS-JEDI

Hello,

Is dual-resolution 3DEnVar (background and ensemble at different resolutions) supported for regional MPAS-JEDI? The tutorial example is global (120 km background, 240 km ensemble)： MPAS-JEDI Tutorial — Practice Session Guide

When I use a regional mesh with an ensemble coarser than the background, the run fails with segmentation faults on all MPI ranks:

[c0271:3234148] Signal: Segmentation fault (11)
[c0271:3234148] Signal code: Address not mapped (1)
[c0271:3234148] Failing at address: 0x14696c5fcafc

Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

Hi @zach,

Which version of mpas-bundle are you using?

I think release v3.x.x might have an issue with those setup. But the regional dual-resolution config should work with the latest mpas-bundle release v4.0.x.

Thanks for the reply @byoung-joo ! I think i’m using v3.0.2 now, I will test it with the latest mpas-bundle version.
