Can I ask why a JEDI version should only be interfaced a specific MPAS version?

We recommend users using the released code for their research, which the specific tag (or hash) of each repository are defined.
MPAS-JEDI is using the infrastructure of MPAS-A Model. Depending on the changes introduces, different version of MPAS-A model might not work with MPAS-JEDI (or even see the build failure). Still, it the version is not very far, different version of MPAS-A might work.
