I am currently trying to integrate an observation operator in JEDI and I am working on the UFO interface. I am wondering if trough the ufo variables defined in ufo_variables_mod.F90 I can obtain the values of some variables like temperature, mole_fraction of O3, CO2 from the geovals in correspondance of the levels of the model. As far as I am guessing the strings in the ufo_variables_mod file allow me to get the values of some variables in the layers of the model.
Also, how are calculated these values for the layers? I am thinking to some methods like Curtis-Godson integrals.
If you could suggest me some material for these I am very thankful.
Also, is there a way to customize the levels/layers of the model distribution, increasing the density in some regions of the atmospheric profile to better catch the distribution of some gases, like the ozone in the lower part of the stratosphere?
