Where would we specify the source of randomness in ensembles? It seems like static background covariants are part of JEDI, but analogous components like boundary conditions in the ensemble, how are those specified?

Typically will have perturbations of the model going from one assimilation cycle to the next. This is outside the scope of JEDI since that has to do with the model.
