Spectral Response Functions for Operational Instruments

Hi,
I’m wondering what the official source is for the spectral response functions that the CRTM uses. I’m particularly interested in the ABI and the VIIRS instrument at the moment, but in general, where are the SRFs acquired?

It’s typically ad hoc, although many of them come from the NOAA STAR SRF repository.

Thanks. One follow-up question: Is there a way to pull out from the CRTM files the information needed to plot the SRFs?

there’s OSRF data available for certain instruments, I could provide that to you directly. It’s a standardized SRF format used by CRTM. Let me know which specific instruments you need.

If you could send to me the SRF for the ABI (GOES-16,-18,-19) and VIIRS instruments (SNPP, NOAA-20,NOAA-21) that would be great. Thanks! Jack
